MAMMA Mia! The Movie has now officially broken all box office records to become the biggest Brit film of all time.

The movie, based on the ABBA musical, has grossed £67 million – more than previous record holder 'Harry Potter' and 'The Philosopher’s Stone'.

Starring Meryl Streep, 59, and Pierce Brosnan, 55, it is the No 1 film in 13 countries including Austria, New Zealand, Hungary, Norway, South Africa and Spain.

It is also Universal Pictures’ most profitable movie ever.

President David Kosse said: “This is fantastic.

“The quality of the film-making and resonance of this feelgood story have made the movie, like the stage play, a global phenomenon.”

Demand for the DVD, due out next month, has already gone through the roof.
